What happened in the past two days?!? Three stars were extinguished. First Ed McMahon, then came Farrah, and shortly within the same day came the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. I think it was Michael who came out of nowhere that probably took the world by surprise yesterday. Cardiac arrest into a coma then slipping away.
I was in the studio working on a song when the news came to me by someone knocking on the door to tell me.
I can’t pretend to be a massive Michael fan, but I can say that I love a lot of his music. I never saw him in concert, but I know people that played and worked with him. He is/was adored around the world by millions. There is no denying how immensely popular he is/was. And what a career he had too. Wow. What a voice he had. There is not enough good things to say about his music.
With that written, I will leave today with this song: Stranger In Moscow. Of his later career music I really love the intro to this song. I don’t know why, but it so embodies the feeling of being a stranger somehow. This is probably the reason why his music connected so well with people. The vibe of the music really brought the lyrics he had home. ‘Nuff said.
If you don’t own, go buy it.
Goodnight King of Pop.
