Yesterday was a happy day for the smartphone tech world. The announcement of the new iPhone 4s was nothing short of fun to watch, read and hear about. I’m happy to know that I’m eligible to upgrade if I decide to stick with AT&T. I came from Sprint and now that Sprint is back in the game with iPhones I may very well jump back. There is one issue to know before I’d make the leap back and that’s if the Sprint version of the iPhone will allow simultaneous voice and data usage. That’s a feature that is so ingrained in my usage that I can’t do without it.
Either way it’s a win for me. If I end up having to stick with AT&T next week, I get the upgrade path discount. If Sprint allows for the same usage, I’m able to leap and be happy.
Then today the tech and media world got the shocking news…
Steve Jobs has passed away.
Steve Jobs is probably the one icon I was hoping to cross paths with. Unfortunately it didn’t happen in person. Fortunately thanks to Steve Jobs and my friend Derek Sivers I became the first artist through CD Baby to be on iTunes without a label deal. A game changer for sure. It’s a darn good thing that has helped many artists and I’m happy I helped out behind the scenes. Thanks Steve, you changed the world for all of us.
In light of today’s news. I going to pass on playing music as a moment of silence.
R.I.P. Steve Jobs.
