Ah the joys of finishing projects.
In the past week of my Single of the Day silence, I have been finishing up projects of music. I finally got a bunch of tracks written for something totally out of my element. I’m awaiting feedback to find out if I need to make any tweaks. Then it will be off to the digital stores once approved. For my own adventure I’ve put up a whole slew of demos for people to vote on. The 12 songs that garner the most votes will be the ones that I carry back into the studio, arrange, then record to rockin perfection. (If you’re interested in voting on the demos contact me.)
I also got the completed mixes for yet another project. Got them all mastered up and now begin the process of collecting all the data before ingesting it into my library for licensing. Along those lines is a second project that is close to being finished up, I’m awaiting drum tracks still for 2 songs. Then the mixes can be finalized.
For yet another project, my co-writer and I decided to bring in a 3rd party. If their contribution gives it the high-five then we’ll be done with that one as well. If it doesn’t work out. We have to rework some tunes yet again.
I know I need to start looking for the next project to work on. How about you?
My next task, bringing you a new song to hear today.
It’s X&O or rather Xavier & Ophelia. A duet that has a song that is akin to Sixpence None The Richer or maybe The Cardigans. They have a elements of electronica mixed with a sense of groove and female vocals. Contemporary is a good way to describe it. Aside from this song, I’ve also heard their cover of Use Somebody which is a cool version of that song. Different.
There’s a mellow rock flavor to their pop sensibility. It’s not straight up pop ala Katy Perry. No, there are elements of the power pop to acts such as Jellyfish. That’s not a bad thing at all. I love that stuff.
Keep and ear out for Xavier & Ophelia.
