Spending time in a mining town is probably an experience that a lot of people might find cool. There’s a sense of adventure if you know that is part of the town’s history. Such is the case for a former little town known as Park City. Located in the mountains about 25 minutes East of Salt Lake City in the state of Utah.
Park City was not a gold mining town. No it’s main ore was Silver.
The experience is for those who were born and raised here is probably a tad different. Provided it was before the year 1985. After 1985 the population exploded and the scarring of the land surround the area happened. Now there’s an explosion of development that has destroyed a vast majority of what made Park City cool in the first place.
Why am I rattling on about this? Well, I’m currently hanging out in Park City spending some time getting a slew of songs finished for an album. Had to take time to shut myself out a little in order to get songs done. Right now I’m putting the finishing touches on demos of nearly 45 songs or so. I’ve got about 17 songs to tweak. Once that’s all set, I’ll be sifting through roughly 75 songs to cut down to 10 or 12 to make a final product recording of.
Changing the method. Instead of going straight from idea to finished product. I’m taking a preproduction and writing stage that allows me a chance to then tweak and edit and determine what’s working and isn’t before I decide to fully produce the final product.
Which probably what Kaile’s label is doing with her career. Testing the waters with a song to see what the reaction is going to be. It’s easy to say the Kaile is easy on the eyes. There’s a good team working with her in terms of the music. Top notch production surrounding her voice which has a certain flair to it. There’s all the ear candy of a hit in the making. There’s a slight tinge of teenage angst in the voice. In a way, I’d liken her to be following in the footsteps of an Avril minus the punk sensibility.
It’s super hard to predict career longevity based on a single song, but I’d say Kaile’s off to a great start.
