I apologize for the recent string of posts that resulted in nothing. Mostly it’s a matter of switching things up in life and needing some time to get affairs in order. A time of big change. That’s what I will say about it. Aside from the change in life, other good things have been presenting themselves.
Currently I’m branching out to musicians I’ve known for a long time and those I’ve recently met. Adding to the list of people I’m doing some writing and creating with. One new thing that has come my way is a request for drum tracks. Seems a particular section of a film trailer score I did sparked the needs of another music supervisor. He wanted a bunch of tracks that had a similar feel for a longer sustained amount of time. So off I’ve been going on a tangent to fulfill that need. I should finish it up tomorrow.
Two other music projects I’ve been working on shall also be getting finished in the next couple of weeks. That’s going to be an additional breath of relief to have them done.
On non library news, I’m going to be the voice of yet another video game song/soundtrack. That’s exciting. Especially since it’s in a genre I like, but have never truly done. Fortunately the composer liked the demo I did and chose me to be the voice. A great feeling to be sure.
Enough about me, lets get to a tune shall we?
I’m gonna roll with a tune called Approach by Chris Cubeta & the Liars Club. They’re a band out of New York that’s been around for a while – must be an east coast thing as I’m only hearing about them now. A recently release EP called Chris Cubeta & the Liars Club features this song.
My initial reaction is an instant liking to the snappy feel of the instruments. It’s got a feel that I’m really liking. I’m also connecting well with the concept that my own approaches to things are in a state of flux and changing right now. Thus it’s a timely and good thing. Wouldn’t you agree?
Dig it? Go get it!
