Yesterday was my 2nd foray into playing in a local softball league. My first outing a couple of weeks ago wasn’t totally stellar, but it wasn’t terrible. Yesterday on the other hand it was more than good. I had 3 hits and several runs batted in. Several great catches to get some people out. We won the game. Much better showing than a couple of weeks ago.
It was a good time out in the sun.
I followed it with a long rehearsal for a show coming up this Saturday. Then I made some dinner and had my own rehearsal for my set coming on Saturday. I was planning on doing a workout in the evening, but realized I had been out too late several nights in a row with a few beers each night led to me being a bit too exhausted to do a workout. Bummer.
My last minutes of waking time last night were filled with tracking guitar and bass parts on a new song that I’m planning on finishing later today.
Since I need to get on with my day, I’m going to move with the following song: Community Property by Steel Panther.
Take a moment to listen.
Suck it in.
Chew on it.
Realize the humor.
Then understand that this is fun. They’ve taken an era of music and pulled all the amazingly funny bits about it and turned it into a cash cow. Though I’m curious to know if they’re now making money since they signed an actual major label deal. I haven’t talked to the cats in the Panther for a little while but we know each other. They’ve been out on the road for a while now doing their show, which if you haven’t seen it, you must. It’s fucking hilarious!
Enjoy the humor, have a great day!
