Today is a day of following up. Phone calls, making sure communication is open.
It’s also a day of archiving information and audio files. Seeing as how I’ve completed 8 tracks in the past month it’s time to do the archive thing and back them up.
Without further ado, here we go:
I’m rolling with a band called the Trews. They’re a band out of Canada that I could make a slight comparison to the likes of say Tragically Hip. Not a great comparison. Though I can certainly here some elements that would be correct in that assessment. They have a different vibe. There’s a touch of Americana in them. The thing I really like is the melody. They have a strong sense of melody. Along with a great feel for groove. Two things that are near and dear to my musical soul.
I really like how they took a very strong and distinctive guitar riff and made a vocal melody follow it. It works without being too outwardly odd.
I suggest checking out a lot of their older material as well. Another strong band from the land of the north. At some point it would be fantastic to share the stage with these guys. I think it would make for a great show!
