Over the weekend I saw the new movie called The Adjustment Bureau. Hard to say what the exact pull was for me to see it was. Mostly because in watching the trailer, the trailer was horrible in giving any real sense of the movie. Thus I will have to attach the reason to Matt Damon. More often than not, he is in movies that are at least good.
To that end, I was pleasantly surprised at how good The Adjustment Bureau was. Though I will say it did take time for it to get rolling. I don’t wish to give anything away about it. All I can say is: Go see it. It’s worth it.
In thinking about what the Adjustment Bureau does, I’m going to roll with a song I was turned onto last summer. It’s called Change The World by Walk The Rio. While not exactly how the Adjustment Bureau works, it does give the characters hope that they can control their own lives and make a change. A difference.
While no musician can claim to be entirely original, they can impart their DNA on their version of music. That is where the change can happen. That’s where I think Walk The Rio have a fighting chance. They have a slight variation on the DNA in their music that is fresh and cool. A little rough, but that polish will come with some time and experience. They’re well on their way.
Get out there and make your mark on the world.
