Suddenly Los Angeles is getting rid of the clouds. Cool weather that was abnormal cool last week has given way to an amazing day that has the birds singing and the sun keeping the sky warm. The kind of day where eating outside on the patio is a pleasure as it’s not too hot, not too cold, but rather just right. Perfect time for what is often called spring cleaning. That’s part of my weekend agenda. Though I do need to intersperse it with painting a closet door, and making some music.
Today I’ll be back in the Audi saddle – water pump is fixed – where I’ll be grabbing a royalty check from a Big Fish project that is now full swing and making sales. Then it’s off to a rehearsal for a couple of hours. Then I’ll be cleaning around the house and finally creating more music and finishing up the vocals on a track I co-wrote with a new writer. Productive day. All so I can get out in the sun tomorrow and get my mountain bike on.
In that respect it’s as if the return to Saturn has come. Which means peace is coming to my life, along with a further launching of career. Erik Scott has just such a cool song called Peace On Saturn. I really dig the opening pedal steel guitars. There’s a fantastic vibe being created here. Very flowing, very floaty, very soothing and quite peaceful. Add a dash of spacey and it’s easy to understand why the song is called Peace On Saturn.
When you have a hectic day I can fully understand how Erik’s song can be a way to jettison the stress and be a reason to relax and get some calm happening. Doesn’t hurt that the music is well played and well recorded. In a way it reminds me of a very mellow version of Joe Satriani.
Go forth and have a kick ass day.
