If there is one thing that happens in LA in the fall or as of now winter, it’s leaves on the ground. Normally when they drop they’re dry. Dry leaves take forever to clean up. They take up a ton of space and float everywhere. This week all the leaves dropped pretty quick. Yesterday the rain began. This is a boon for cleaning up leaves. Why? They soak up water, flatten out, and become much easier to pick up and take up less space. Before I get to finishing a bunch of mixes today, I’ll be cleaning up leaves around the house. Yes, I do my own yardwork.
Some people think it’s awkward to clean up leaves in rain. Because of that, I’m going to run with a tune that is actually awkward for a band this is known for a whole lot of great music. It’s called Rain Must Fall by Queen. One of my favorite bands of all time. While I can’t say that I hate the song, it’s definitely awkward in comparison for a lot of their other work that is far superior.
There is the signature Freddie vocal. The processed and large drums by Roger. The masterful and support bass by John. The super identifiable guitar sound of Brian. Mix it all together with some strange synths and you have an exploration by Queen that can be excused.
On a weather note, it appears that a vast amount of the northern hemisphere is under some sort of precipitation today. Have fun however you manage to deal with it.
