My buddy Robert had been talking up a show from Showtime for a little while now. Dexter is the title. It’s been on for a few seasons now. Fortunately Dexter is up on Netflix. That gives me the ability to stream it and speed watch it. I’m sure there’s a lot of people in this world that can likely relate to the main character Dexter in how he is slightly off kilter to the rest of society. I think we all get to feeling like that from time to time.
On a more realistic note, I’m in the midst of cleaning out the house, a fall clean I guess. Why? Tomorrow I’ll be starting a two week process of having the hardwood floors refinished in my house. Something that has never been done in the past. Thus the floor is dire need of being stripped, sanded, nailed down, sealed and finished. Then before the baseboard goes back down I’ll be repainting some rooms too. A change of energy and look. Good stuff.
Since I’ve been experiencing a flip flop of emotions and feelings lately. Mixed messages and confusion. Thus with all the great stuff going on it’s a little odd with one aspect. Which brings me to a song by Latent Anxiety called Insane.
There’s a vibe to the song that I can’t quite put a finger on. There’s electronica elements for sure. There’s crispy guitars, bouncing synths and dark vocals. There’s a very planned out cut and pasted feel to it, but somehow it’s grabbing me. Like it’s the cool theme for a B movie or something. An indie movie of a futuristic type of story. Like if there was a current version of say THX 138 coming out now. That’s the type of movie I’m thinking.
The straightness of the groove doesn’t bother me. The sounds that are slipping in and out of the mix are what are holding my attention. I’m sure that Latent Anxiety has more to come in their future. Keep an eye out.
