I got wind last night that the files I turned in on a project are sounding really good. Thus I can now stick a fork in another project as it’s done. Which means today I’ll be archiving the project and backing it up. Eventually I’ll get the files over to the artist I was producing and it will be in their hands as to what should be done next.
It’s amazing how much extra time a project can take when life happens. Happily it wasn’t my life that was causing the delay.
It’s always a good relief to call a project done, makes it easier to move on to the next thing and dive in all the way. Much like the whole library thing, now that those files are done and sent in… Whew. It’s amazing the turnaround in praise I’m getting from fellow peers about the whole deal with it. Now that a deal is in place with a major network. It’s bringing new life from people I want to work with. Definitely a great thing.
There’s a song that has come across my speakers today essentially shook me sideways. What do I mean? Well the intro is bizarre. Once the music kicks in though there’s something really haunting that is going on. It took me by the shoulders and sat me down.
Shayfer James is definitely channelling Jeff Buckley by way of Danny Elfman. There’s an eclectic feel that is really unique here. It’s cool and intriguing. Is it something that will instantly be a commercial hit? Not likely, however I could definitely hear this going into something like a Showtime or HBO show. Not a bad thing that’s for sure. In fact since starting to watch Dexter, it could really fit in that show.
Check out more of Shayfer, he’s got something good going on.
