Ok. I went yesterday to the dentist. Upon first examination of the tooth when I got into the chair, the assistant took a look at it and asked who did the temp filling. I mentioned that I had done it and she immediately asked: Do you want a job? Of course she was joking, but then the dentist came in and saw the tooth and the temp filling. He ended up asking the same question: Do you want a job? At which point the assistant let it be known that she hopes she’s not gonna get replaced. So much for dental humor. It seems as though I did an amazing job of filling it in with the temporary dental stuff I got.
Then he got in there cleaned the tooth out based on the xray. Then he stopped and said uh oh. My first thought was, don’t uh oh. He put his tools down and told me that the tooth had a problem. Not decay mind you. See I do take good care of my teeth. Turns out the tooth had cracked in half from front to back. He mentioned that it’s probably on of the 4 worst he’s ever seen. They took a picture of it, so that I could see for myself. Oh boy, it’s so lovely.
Of course I can’t remember a point where I would have eaten something that hard that it would have broke the tooth. The discussion shifted to asking questions about teeth and cavities, etc. Mostly because I’ve been dating a woman who has one cavity, and another buddy who has none. I wondered how it was that I got so many. As I’m told it’s the fact that I mentioned my teeth being sealed as a kid. The dentist mentioned that it’s the deep grooves that naturally occurred in my teeth that led to the issue. Then the filling, being a metal one like expanded and started a natural hairline crack that must have expanded over time and became what it is today. This is likely TMI. Especially for a music blog. Hey, musician’s are people too.
Beyond the tooth, I’ve got some improvements going on at home. That’s a good thing as I’m planning on moving in about 6 months.
Which brings me to today’s choice of tune by Peter Buzzelle. The song is about the idea of summer homes. Well in Southern California, just about every home could be considered a summer home. The song itself has a very simple feel and nature about it. That reminds me more of a house that would be like a summer vacation spot. Tucked away somewhere where summer is only a couple of months out of the year.
Stylistically the song has a very organic, un-produced feel. Like it was done in the living room of a summer home or something. That leads to the appeal of the track, don’t ya think?
Since Fall is upon us and Winter will be here soon, I’m sure it won’t be long before you’re thinking of a summer home situation. 🙂
Go have fun with Peter!
