If there is one thing that is absolutely astounding, it’s a company that claims to have great customer service. Even better when they have a written guarantee to back it up to make sure you know it. Then, when they don’t live up to that service and you want the guarantee to be put into effect they decide to not follow thru. I’ve got two such cases of failed customer service in the past few weeks.
First is a company that I had secured to deal with my loan modification on my house well over a year ago. To put it bluntly, they’ve failed epically several times in that time. A couple of months ago after being given the run around for about 5 months, where they moved offices, changed numbers and didn’t update me on any such data, I started asking for the refund – the guarantee of refund based on the contract we had. Instead of acknowledging my request, it got ignored. I asked multiple times for them to stop working on getting the loan mod and to give me back my money.
I made that request because I had found someone new who had action that made sense and explained everything that would happen and the time frame it would happen in. Well, yesterday I finally got a call from the previous company who had ignored my requests saying they had finally secured me a loan mod. When I mentioned that it wasn’t them that got it, they got huffy. Of course they got huffy. I had filed a complaint with the BBB. Where their response was that I was rude and unreasonable. I admit I got pretty testy when I kept getting ignored and finally texted the owner an foul word in a text asking for a “fucking refund.” That was the only time he ever responded – telling me he didn’t give a shit and that he’d just as soon let me fall into foreclosure.
At this point they (Continental Housing Solutions) believes they’ve got me a deal. Far from the truth. They have stated that they have done their job and that if I want to get my money back I’ll have to sue them. They feel that despite my requests to stop working and to refund my money two months ago, they’ve now completed their job and that they have proof they did. Ugh. Don’t do business with Continental Housing Solutions or Jose Orrante. It’s not worth the headache or grief you’ll get from them. Especially with the way they dealt with things. Highly unprofessional.
The second case is the US Postal Service. I sent an item out before I headed out on vacation. The item was the nice crystal trophy I won in the charity poker tournament. I packed it in the form fitting box, then put it in the mailer and had it insured for what I thought was the proper price (unfortunately it was worth more than I thought). I paid the insurance and the counter lady asked if it was fragile. I mentioned to her it was glass crystal. Usually they would mark that on the package – she didn’t. Lo and behold – it broke in transit.
Now I’m attempting to file a claim and the post office is saying they don’t insure stuff. Well, that’s funny, seems I paid for insurance in case it got busted in transit. What the fuck?!? I’m waiting to hear back from them about the situation hoping they do the right thing and pay for the damage – otherwise why the hell have insurance?
I’m rolling with Bad Influence by Throwing Toasters as I have to imagine that customer service is now going to start suffering in a horrendously bad way. Someone must have figured, hell lets start screwing our customers so they stop doing business with us – that’s brilliant marketing. Don’t ya think?
It’s a great thing that Throwing Toasters has a great sense of humor. The song is obviously meant to be a joke. It would be great if these businesses were actually joking as well. Grant should be doing more new music. I know I’ve approached him recently for a song idea that I think would work great for him.
If you need a great laugh, this is the place to get it. The whole Chrome CD is a gem of funny songs with clever humor and easy music. Go get it!
