There’s really nothing fun about the back and forth of contract stuff. It’s amazing that when you’ve worked on something for so long and it’s coming down the home stretch and yet the people involved on the other side end up dragging feet. There’s really no sense in it and it often seems to suggest a lack of respect.
Aside from contract bs, I did sit down and complete the first draft of a new song yesterday. After I had finished the production of a song I ended up sitting down and writing one of my own. It was not a kids song. No, it’s a tune about two people. One who is questioning the other. I’m gonna withhold the title as the song is still in flux a little. Though I do have a very rough solo voice and guitar recording of it. There are parts that I wish to flesh out and do a crazy arrangement for.
It felt good to work thru the tune in a way that I’ve actually never used before. It was an adventure for me. I didn’t mind the method and I may use it again in the near future for other songs soon to be written. I do have yet another song where the music is fleshed in preproduction and the lyrics are about 2/3 written. Slowly but surely I’m finishing a boatload of songs that I have had on the side burner waiting to get completed so that they can head into the studio for the final production recording and fun.
In comes Bazaar Royal, taking the concept of indie or rather non-signed to a different space. He’s a bit edgy, but I’m finding something in his voice that is hooking me in. I can’t explain it. I would almost say that he reminds me of an unpolished Axl Rose. It takes a moment longer than I normal like for this song to kick in and grab hold, but when it does it kept me interested.
He appears to only be able to be found on iTunes so grab and enjoy!
