There’s nothing like getting your week started by still remaining in bed working on getting the last remnants of a summer cold/flu/whatever out of your system. That’s what I’ll be doing until I have a session to attend later today. Thus I’m gonna keep this short and sweet.
It’s not often that I end up putting a song on here when it’s not available via iTunes or Amazon. However being that I’m in a weird state of mind having been ill in the middle of summer with a sore throat that felt like my vocal chords were getting shredded by razor blades, then I think I’m going to relate rather well to the title of this song by Bazaar Royale. It’s called I Know Pain. There’s no doubt that in this past week I’ve experienced it.
There’s a definite old school rock vibe going on with this song. It’s mixed in with some modern ideas for the mix and you’ve now got an inkling of the attitude that exudes from Bazaar Royale. The one thing that sticks into me immediately as an avenue for this song and his music in general is something along the lines of a Quentin Tarantino movie.
There’s a slightly funk vibe with a very relaxed off the beat slam going on here. It’s a very greasy groove that really rolls along. I certainly hope you pay attention to him and grab it the moment it’s for sale.
