There are days when things appear to move forward. Yesterday was such a day. I had a great meeting with Aubrey Ashburn. I got a call that showed me how asking for something that was needed immediately can sometimes take up to five months to get an answer – not exactly quick, but at least I now have a new contact to work with for writing in a particular genre. I also got yet another request to create a cue for a game, a really high energy modern rock thing.
Another thing I learned is that sometimes people are weird. Let me say that I wanted to ask this person out. When I got the number originally I had mentioned as such. Yet today when actually asking for a time to go do something, I’m told that they are already involved. Why give me the number in the first place?!? What the hell is up with that?
Speaking of game music and a cue I’m being asked to write, I decided to roll with a tune by a band called Chemical Distance. It’s called The Protector. In a way it reminds me of a tune that could be for game audio. It’s dark, it’s got vibe, it’s gothic. While it’s not at the tempo I’m looking to create sometime later today, it is cool.
