I’m set to finish the first round of mixes on a CD for another artist today. That’s a good amount of the work already done. Then it’s up to the artist to listen and determine what they are or are not comfortable with.
Last night I received the audio files and cue sheets of the songs I’ll be singing next week on a video game for Japan. That’s exciting. I’ll need to start going thru them to make sure I’m ready for the session.
I’m also meeting with a new sales rep for my library. Getting the NDA and the agreement from him that he has signed. Then it’s off to the races to see how he does.
Alas, I got to get my rear in gear and get on with the day…
I’m running with a tune from a few years ago by a band that had a big amount of hype. I didn’t jump on it right away because a lot of the time the hype is over done to the point where it’s over kill. I think too much hype actually can harm the music. Such was the case with this. It’s not a terrible tune, but by no means was the band the be all end all of music that the media had made it out to be. A little bit of realism can go a long way in keeping a career sustained. I don’t think that Keane resides in the where are they now file, but I don’t recall hearing anything of late as to what they’re up to.
Lots of heavy piano, a haunting male voice tied in with snappy drums, and some bass. It reminds me a bit of early Coldplay. Not a bad thing, but then I’m a big fan of not wearing the influences so heavily on the sleeve. In this day and age, that can get pretty hard to do, but it’s not impossible.
Enjoy and go have a great day!
