Last night I got a chance to see a band that has a pretty good following. They performed at the John Ford Theater in Los Angeles. They’re an Armenian band. They play a lot of Armenian music. But they also play Greek, French, Polish, Italian and more. It’s probably the most culturally diverse thing I’ve ever been witness to. I was invited there by a friend who is Italian. She’s a vocalist with a following of her own – she teaches both here in Los Angeles and in Italy.
It’s a great venue to see music.
They put on one hell of a show. Not in terms of being visually entertaining, but musically it was pleasing. Alas, I really couldn’t understand any of the lyrics because they’re all in languages I don’t really know. But the melodies and the rhythms were sonically fun to partake in. That’s the beauty and power of music. You don’t need to understand the words to enjoy the music.
If you get a chance to see Element Band perform and you want a relaxed enjoyable exploration into a bunch of different cultures, then make sure you go see this band. You won’t be disappointed. So many instruments, so many songs, so much music. It’s a musical journey for sure.
