I’ve been reading lately about the concept of running barefoot and the benefits of it. It’s intriguing. It makes sense to me. However I’ve yet to actually try it. I have worn some sandals that I have made of rope and they always get a lot of comments about them. They’re quite comfortable and seem very much like walking on ground.
Apparently the idea of shoes has changed the way we walk and run and probably not in a great way. At least that’s the theory. I’m about to get back into running again in the next week. I may try it for the initial distance while I take Dorian with me. I’m also going to watch some videos on how to do it. The body will let you know if you’re doing it wrong. That’s what I appreciate about myself, listening.
Which brings me to a new song by Pi. A singer/songwriter out of Los Angeles with a new CD called Fire Horse Girl. She’s singing about the idea of new shoes. New shoes can help you feel like you’re walking like someone else. Or they can lift your spirit. I like the intimate nature going on in the song. It’s like the caressing of a good pair of shoes that help your feet and not hinder them. Right?
For those of us that take pride in our shoes this is certainly the right song to have in a musical library. Go get it now!
