When two people are cruising along it can be a very cool thing. No questions, no need to label, no need to do anything but be. I’m one of those people that tends to be. I have visions of things that I wish to have a way that I see in my minds eye, but generally it has to do with music. When it comes to relationships I tend to go with the flow. I don’t push people to do anything that I wouldn’t do. There isn’t much I wouldn’t do, compared to stuff I would.
A lot of women I’ve met recently are all wanting to take things slow, be friends first, etc… All well and good. It’s actually made me think about things I’m doing and I’m pretty content with that mindset. However, some are starting to break from the pack and want more. Which would have been great two months ago, however I’m now pretty happy with remaining friends and not taking any relationship further. As the saying goes: timing is everything. Then there’s the adage of we’re on different pages now, which essentially relates to timing.
In music, it’s the timing that can make or break a song. It’s the timing between musicians that can make or break a groove or feel. It’s the timing that can make a band sound terrible. It’s the same in relationships. When you’re not in the same moment with a similar mindset, it will create tension.
Tension and release or tension and harmony.
Release and harmony are what can occur after the tension. Either you let it go and stop being around each other, or you move thru it and find other common ground.
That’s how I’m feeling as I’m running thru finishing tracks for a song while on a deadline. I’m getting out and doing all sorts of things with different people and sharing amongst my friends. It’s a good thing, it allows me to change my pages and have different people to share them with. Do I want to spend more time with one person over another? Sure, I think we all do. I’m not on that page right now.
That tension needs a bit of release. Which is why I’m going for a laid back instrumental tune today. From out of Iceland we have Olafur Arnalds creating some very amazing sounds that are relaxing and mesmerizing. Lots of little things slowly layering into the song as it moves along. I really like how the drum loops continually build and seep into the mix. More and more instruments and noises constantly coming in as the tune builds and builds.
I have no idea what Fok means. I don’t know Icelandic. However, I do know that I’m really enjoying the track. I’m putting it on repeat as I eat. Then it’s off to the studio to hunker down on the track I need to finish.
Have a great day!
