Today is a long day. Lots of stuff to get to. Starting with a trip to get my hair cut. Then a meeting and a joy of getting taxes done. I follow that up with a voice over recording. The evening finishes up with going to see a show. Thus I’m in need of getting out and about.
** My title is referencing the fact that while I was out today, a major meeting that I, that I showed up on time and ready for was cancelled. Nothing is more annoying than having a plan, get there and the other person doesn’t even have the decency to call ahead of time to say “I’m sorry.” To make matters worse her assistant told me I’d get a call before the end of the day. Nope.
The real irony is that I got an email that talks about word of mouth. It’s a powerful thing. I can say for certain that the person I was set to meet with will never get a recommendation from me for anything, ever. She would have to do something extraordinarily amazing for me to even get back into my good graces, but will never get a recommendation. No, it’s not just this meeting that caused this. It’s an on going thing and I’ll be very happy when I get extricated from the mess she created. Which is exactly what that email was about. Do what you say you will do and do it when you say you will do it.
Which leads me into a Nickleback tune. Learn the Hard Way. It’s something many of us do. I know this past year has been me learning some things the hard way. When it comes to a girl I was chasing, I finally gave up. When it comes to finding the right people to take a career to the next level, I’m moving on. It’s a constant learning process. Which is all well and good. I think the angst that can come from it is well summed up in this tune.
It’s well produced. It’s tight. It’s typical of a Nickleback recording. There’s not much more to say about it.
Yes, I know it’s a rarity that I post a non-iTunes song on a weekday. But I had to do it.
