One thing that I find interesting is that when you talk about something a lot and then suddenly stop talking about it, people will start asking about it. I think that’s a rather interesting concept. Maybe it only happens for specific subjects. One such subject is interpersonal relationships.
I know that I had been thru the ringer with someone in the past year. I couldn’t stop talking about that person with pretty much any friend or person I could chat about it with. I think that’s my way of sorting shit out in my head sometimes, especially when it comes to human behavior. Could be that I never paid so much attention to another human that I never learned, who knows.
Anyway, I’ve pretty much tapered off on the subject and now friends are coming to me asking about it. Wondering how I’m doing, and how things are. It’s kinda bizarre. I figured they were over hearing about it because it was so consuming. I do think that I spare a lot of it now as I understand the situation much better. It doesn’t make it any less frustrating, but I am ready to put my head somewhere else and get back to being me inside my head. That’s a good thing.
It might have something to do with getting a dog. That’s become a bit consuming in terms of keeping me occupied making sure he’s getting his start in the world. The great thing is he is a conversation starter. Yesterday he went to his first party and then a second party. Dorian is already a party animal. 🙂 He’s still a cute puppy. So much so that people were everywhere picking him up, taking pictures of him and generally going gooey over him. He even got to chase some little bitty kids around.
He got so worked at the first party that he literally passed out at my feet.
Then came a second party where there were more people and some dogs. Dorian was still tired at first and took a nap for a little while. Then he woke up and started running around with the other dogs. Got in his first dog pile, and again was gaining all types of attention from people at the party. I finally left the second party with him passed out in my arms again. I’ve been offered money to rent him to people that want to walk him. That’s a kick ass concept right there. Pay me money to walk my dog. Ha ha ha. Anyway, I can tell that it really helps to have a dog that people can respond to in a town where so many people act friendly in a very guarded manner. The dog helps open the guard.
Anyway, for the sake of saying it again and then having stopped and now having people ask, I’ve come across a tune that I really like. The artist is Greg Walters with a song called Say It Again. From the moment it opens I get a very 70’s vibe in terms of the chord movement, the rhythm and the style. Sonically it’s nothing like a 70’s vibe. While I’d probably take and song like this and add a bit more polish to it, I really like what he’s done.
It’s a shame that it’s not yet on places like iTunes and Amazon. I have the feeling you’re bobbing your head as you’re sitting here reading this post. There’s a very strong rhythmic flow that I really like here. All kinds of little parts woven into the musical fabric help to keep the interest up. That’s a great thing too. Greg’s voice is very fitting for the style he’s doing.
As for the lyrics, it’s a story that I’m sure a bunch of the world can relate to. You keep hearing something over and over and pretty soon it becomes white noise in the background. The kind of thing where you know that you’re tired of hearing the same old story. Right?
Go bug Greg to get you the song!!
