There’s nothing quite like exposing your feelings to someone you care about. Sometimes it comes at the most in opportune time. It especially is scary when you do it thinking there’s a mutual reciprocation going on and you put it out there only to find it’s not mutual. As a line from a song goes “It’s time to pick up the pieces and move back to square one.”
The good thing is, it doesn’t change how you feel. It only lets you know where you are – not on the same page. From there it becomes a matter waiting and seeing, moving on, or keeping a great friendship and looking elsewhere. A little more than a crossroads and a bit less than an intersection.
I suppose it’s probably even weirder when the people involved are only friends. Very good friends mind you, but friends nonetheless.
Which is what brings me to a great song about friends and friendship by King’s X. One of my favorite bands because they have written so much fun music. Not only are the melodies amazing but the rhythm structures and the complexity allows for musicians to love it. It’s probably a wise idea to pull the head out for some fresh air, regain perspective.
I’m gonna pound it in my head, the massive grooves from King’s X. Get my mind back into the music I’ve been working on and go about my merry way, how about you?
