I’m sure there are a whole lot of people right now looking at things and saying to themselves, damn this sucks. Especially when it comes to finances. It’s no secret that things are getting rough for a lot of people. It’s sad when you read about people that decide it’s so bad they need to shoot their family/friends and themselves. Very sad. It’s always good to take stock in the fact that you’re alive and nothing is ever so bad with that. Finances can always be fixed.
What constitutes a better life? Is it the dream job? Is it the ability to explore the world around? Is it spending time with people you care about? It’s probably a combination of many things and for each of us it’s a different combination. That’s the beauty of us being human.
For Scott it was realizing he wasn’t happy in the profession he had chosen. Thus he ended up doing something about it. And thus a musician was born. A simple mellow rocker in this song A Better Life, that’s the vibe. The story is pretty obvious. Lots of little parts in the song along with some pop flavored chords provide a good base for Scott’s easy going vocal.
I would liken Scott to the attitude of a friend of mine Bob Karwin. They have a different disposition musically. But they both have similar backgrounds and both are finding success in the world of music. Isn’t that part of having a better life? It sounds like it to me.
We all need a soundtrack to a better life, how about adding this one to it?
Great single. I’ve listened to it several times. I could totally relate to the lyrics. The musical diversity in the song was outstanding.
It’s my fav on the CD Kim. I would have to agree with ya.
