We all have it. It’s an innate desire to be craved, wanted, loved or desired. Some of us want it to a much greater extent than others, but we all want it. In a world where the idea of finance is crumbling all around us it would seem that random acts of desire or kindness towards others would be greatly appreciated.
Media peeps are starting to get the picture. In the past couple of days I have read and seen stories at my various news outlets that attest to this. One story came out of Colorado where at some coffee shops people paying for the coffee of the next person in line. It’s a good story.
Then this morning is a story about a CEO who reduced his salary and took away all his perks. He did this on his own accord. He runs an airline, a big one. It’s not an american airline. It’s JAL, a Japanese airline. He now pays himself less than his pilots and has no company perks anymore. How cool is that? If only our American CEOs could pull their heads out of their asses and do the same.
The desire of the masses is to see an end to CEO greed. The desire of some people in Colorado is to put a smile on the face of the next person in line. Little stories like that are great.
Which brings me to today’s song. A former Fallen Friday who still has an appropriate feeling and is right for events going on now. Everybody wants to be wanted. The song has a very distinctive intro, not sure I’ve ever heard one like it. The guitar part is fun, the snaps to add some percussive interest are cool too. Then there’s Billy’s melody that is really cool and his vocal is strong. His production was likely top notch for the era he came out. There’s a good journey in the song. It’s got so many elements to what makes a song great. Thus it still holds up.
In the effort of spreading desire I want to say that I’m happy you’re here to read and listen to the music I’m showcasing here everyday. I appreciate it. I ask that you add some Billy to your library. I know it’ll put a smile on your face, Billy’s face, and my face. Win/Win/Win.
