Ever feel like you need to get out of town for a day? Some people probably get that way all the time. Maybe they live that way everyday. Maybe I have a secret desire for that as well being that I’m working on being a touring musician. Well, in light of several good pieces of news yesterday, I’ve decided to bolt out of town for a day.
Of course my departure won’t actually occur until after non-other-than a writing session. In the meantime I’ll be getting on some phone calls and the exterminator is dropping by today to make sure that the cricket that started singing in the studio yesterday won’t be making a repeat performance. It’s not fun to have that sound in a studio.
Hitting the open road. That’s the frame of mind I get when I saw the title Little Sparrow. The vibe of the song isn’t really a blood pumping type of road trip. It’s more like a meandering type of going out for a country drive type of tune. Which is exactly where my head is at by going out of town for the day later today until tomorrow.
Mae has a real smooth voice. It reminds me of being a real little kid and visiting my grandparents. I have no idea what artists they used to listen to, but I can remember the music tended to be very mellow. I also remember the vocals being very mellow and smooth. In that respect I guess it gives me a little bit of nostalgia. Can one have such things at a young age? Good question.
Because I’m thinking quick, I’ll keep the post short. Enjoy Mae and her tune, and if it wells up a feeling inside you, pick it up – legally. I’ll be thinking of ya from the road.
Mae has a beautiful voice. She reminds me of Karen Carpenter. She shares her soul with the listener as honestly as Karen did.
Thank you so much for spreading the music!
You’re very welcome.
Over the moon—yeeeeah. Brootiful!
