The summer is flying by. For some the summer is essentially over, being that they’re back in school. Which makes it a perfect time to hit places like Magic Mountain. Provided that roller coasters give you a sense of excitement. They do for me. Thus I think it would be high time to make a visit to the nearest 6 Flags in the next couple of weeks.
Additionally, it’s been a little odd attempting to find a core group of people to go mountain biking with. I’ve found friends for playing poker, writing music, going golfing, hanging for a beer, but somehow two of my favorite things to do still elude me: skiing and mountain biking. I think I’ll head to the local bike shop to put up a rider buddy request. To think that none of my musician friends ride is odd. Actually that lots of my friends don’t ride is odd.
I’m really excited to get the big ride for next summer off the ground. Thus it would be cool to get a core group to ride with now to get acquainted at this point. Obviously the whole group won’t be from my neck of the woods.
That’s where I’m going with the song for today. Mr. Carlos Bertonatti has a very latiny, laid back vibe going on. Almost seems perfectly situated for a corona beer commercial. This song happens to encapsulate all the influences he claims to have. They include Jack Johnson, KT Tunstall, John Mayer and Seal. Though I don’t quite hear the Seal influence.
It’s got a poppin little groove with a very mellow vocal. I can pretty much feel the breeze blowing thru my hair while I’m tipping back a cold one. It gives me a warm feeling that I can associate with summer and relaxing. Quite different from say Brother Love and his Summertime tune.
Carlos isn’t yet on iTunes. But keep an eye out for him.
