Let me start by saying I do not hate cats.
However, now I need to get into the nitty gritty. It seems the neighbors have taken to letting their cats rome wild. Thus those cats have started using my yard, my planter boxes and the areas behind my studio to start defecating everywhere. It’s extremely annoying. Thus it’s time to put an end to it. Not to mention the disturb the dogs from another neighbor.
I’ve been doing some google research into the issue. Not a lot of variation. Lots say to use bizarre combinations of things like cayenne pepper, vinegar, humane urine, dish soap, lemon, etc. Then there are the sprinklers, and the noise generators. I’ve tried a mixture of cayenne, vinegar and water. I sprayed in a bunch of areas. It seemed to work for a couple of days. Yesterday I spotted another cat hanging out. Thus the effectiveness obviously wore off.
So, do any of the faithful Single of the Day readers have suggestions on how to rid a property of cats that is effective and lasting? My enquiring mind wishes to know.
In the meantime I wish I could instill some paranoia in the cats that keep coming around. Which is part of why I chose today’s pick. The title. Michael Lynche’s Heat or Paranoia is actually a really cool ditty. I can certainly hear his influences piercing thru. I hear Outkast, and Gnarls Barkley. Funny as that’s who he apparently gets compared to. Very fitting.
I’m fully diggin the rhythmic vibe he’s tossing out in this jam. Very clever use of the vocal. It’s a groove fest. It’s catchy. It’s fun. I can certainly hop on the bandwagon of a sound like this. Very poppy hip hop type of thing. It’s sounds like so much fun that I would consider attempting to do a falsetto type of thing on one of my tunes if I could prevent it from being like the Bee Gees. Hmmm, the ideas abound.
What’s not so fun is that the song isn’t available on iTunes or any of the download services yet. I’m not sure when it will hit stores. So all I can say is, visit his website, his myspace, his facebook and put the heat on for getting it to the digital world.
