At the beginning of this recent basketball season it was said that the Los Angeles Lakers were going to be a year out for getting into the playoffs and the finals. Of course at that time Kobe Bryant was also discussing leaving the team. Well, we’re now down to the end of the season and of course a matchup of the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers is what is on the minds of basketball fans.
I’m aware that there are many Laker fans who really love Kobe. There are also a lot of Laker fans that can’t stand Kobe (and his attitude). Personally I think he’s overpaid, but a very good basketball player – I don’t know him personally but friends of mine who have met and know many of the Lakers don’t care for Kobe.
Me, I really don’t have favorite teams in any sport. I like watching sports in generally. Even more so I like to participate in sports. I have had the experience to see basketball from courtside seats. It rules! I happened to catch the game where the Utah Jazz got the record for the biggest comeback in NBA history in a single game. They were down like 35 points at the half against the Grizzlies (at least I think that was the other team). In the second half the Jazz came back to win in a decisive victory. It was like being at two completely different games in one.
Here it is a few years later and now there’s another NBA record that could be broken. Provided the Lakers can beat the Celtics in the next two games. If they accomplish that, then it would be the first time that a team has ever come back in a final series from being down 3-1. Can the Lakers do it? That is the question.
In a little ode to the world of sports I wrote a song called Do You Want To Play. I’ve done some very specifically for LA sports teams and the three major leagues that I tend to follow (no offense to baseball, but I only like going to live games). I’m sure that in the future I could put out another release of it where I add additional teams and leagues. Until then, let’s see if this version of the song can help up the juice of the Lakers in their battle against the Celtics.
Do You Want To Play? All I ask is that you pull it in legally. I’d appreciate it.
