I remember a running joke about time. There was standard time and there was Redford time. At least that’s how I understood it. Standard time was the time you’d get from a time server or your watch matched to the actual time that an event was to take place. Redford time was roughly 2 hours after the start of the event. Did I have a connection to the famous actor? Yup, at one time I did. Don’t ask, and I won’t tell. Ask and I probably still won’t likely discuss it unless I really like you.
I finally understand the concept of Redford time. The sad thing is, I’m not a household name yet. But I’m getting my creative ability into so many things that my time is stretching to the point where stuff will run late. Like right now. I’m supposed to be out the door to a recording session for some drums. Yet I’m here typing. Even worse, I haven’t got the address yet.
Priorities is what it comes down to. I feel an obligation to keep this up, this blog. People really seem to love it, at least that’s what the unique visit numbers are showing me and it’s all pretty much without a massive PR push of any kind. Thus a thank you to the faithful reader/listener and any new eyes that have happened upon this post.
When it comes to Pink, I can easily say that I’m late to the game. Sadly I had kinda written her off as some sort of pop starlet. But then as I was dating Erin about a year and a half ago, she had a CD of Pink in the car. I actually enjoyed what I was hearing and I was more than impressed. Recently in a songwriting venture I was asked to listen to more of her stuff. Which led to me picking this song for today.
She’s got a great sense of humor. She’s got a fantastic smokey voice quality. It goes without saying that she has a great team producing her music. There is a ton of pump in this song. The kind that grabs you from the get-go and doesn’t let-go. At least it’s that way for me. In fact the energy on this song gives me such a pump that I have it in mind to write a song for Pink. We’ll see if I can get it to the right peeps when I get it finished.
