I’m in the midst of a little crunch time. I’ve finally launched the first of several websites geared towards helping people learn their instrument. What’s the website Jody? Killer Guitar Lessons dot com is my answer. I’m working on getting the first teacher to get his 2 lessons completed so that there will be more than the one I have already put up. Within a week I should also have the Bass and Drum sites up as well. Working on getting the teachers to get their lessons up.
So far the reason has been favorable so that’s a plus. It’s weird because I’m suddenly in a spot where I know I’ve been doing a lot of writing and creating, but I’m finally feeling like things are seeing some completion. Now if I can apply that to some other things that have been in the works for a long ass time, I may really see things take off soon. That would make me happy. Very happy. That’s where I’m going.
Where are you going?
I know where this song is going. Right into the archives of Single of the Day. I’ve found that it’s got a smooth little vibe. Like a cross of some funk, and rap. I’m actually fairly partial to the Adam Levine type vocals of the hook singer. The guy has got a few chops that sound good. I also like the mellow vibe going on.
There are elements to the vocal that remind me of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. I’m not sure of the title of the song where they have a female vocalist just riffing for days on a melody. But it does give me some of that vibe.
I dig the electric piano sound at the beginning. It’s enveloping as a sound even through my laptop speakers. That’s cool to me. I was listening to a Chuck Cannon song yesterday and found the same type of feeling there too.
I could hear this as a soundtrack type song in a movie where something terrible has happened in someone’s close knit family. This would be the montage where things are dwelled upon and resolved. Don’t ya think?
Show the Animate Objects some love. Pick up the tune and blast it while you’re cruising your neighborhood.
