Maybe it’s all part of those alternative plans I was yappin about yesterday. Then again there are people on this earth that don’t believe in God, a God, or for the Christians – The God. One interesting thing is that there are so many religions. All have some similar values in some ways. Quite a few express the idea of being tolerant and loving. I’m sure they all mean well.
Religion is getting some front page news in America. In past couple of years the powers that be have apprehended Warren Jeffs and in the past week a raid ensued on a little town that followed Warren Jeffs. The reason? They practice a version of mormonism called fundamentalism that allows for polygamy. So much for a country that allows for religious freedom. It’s religious freedom so long as it fits a certain religious profile – meaning you can’t legally have more than one spouse. Mormons originally had to change their religious beliefs in order to become a state in the union (the United States).
The FLDS followers were apparently raided once before 50 years ago. History is repeating itself. I don’t have a problem with people that can make polygamy work for them if they can do it without coercion and deceit. Unfortunately it’s not always the case, especially in the fact of deceit. Seems Jeffs’ followers were working the welfare system of the country where they were taking in roughly $8 in federal help for every dollar that went out in tax. That’s working the system in a way that doesn’t work. Enough about that…
As for places like Los Angeles, I’m sure there are people who wonder if there is a God. The argument is if God is so loving and caring why would God allow for little kids to be gunned down? With the atrocities going on in the world, the real question is if there is some all knowing, all loving entity how can it allow those heinous things to occur? That’s not a test or question of faith.
Today’s song choice got me to thinking, that’s all.
Justin has a real earthy quality to his voice. In this particular song I liken him to an old school singer/songwriter type in his vibe. That piano is smokin in it’s filling sound. I also like the rasp that Justin has going on. The combination of Justin’s voice and this piano works extremely well. As a engineer it was a good call on the matching the two together.
There is something epic about his song. It’s got old school songwriting production to it. Meaning all the instruments are complimenting the vocal. Be it with rhythmic hits, be it with adding or removing instruments, be it with the intensity the instruments are played with. Justin’s song has it all wrapped up in a great package. Unfortunately this song is not yet available for sale. Hopefully soon. He is out on tour in April. Catch him, I’m sure it’s a good show.
