Last night was a blast. I visited with my grandma, then my dad, and then went to dinner and a concert with friends. The theme for the dinner was Russian food. There was Vodka of all kinds, sausage and and other things. The food was good too. However, none of it was really like any of the food I remember eating in Russia. Yes, I’ve been to Russia.
It was a great time when I went there. However, the food was probably the bottom rung of the list of things to enjoy. I always joke that if people want to loose weight they ought to spend time there. I’m sure that’s not always the case, but it certainly felt like it. I pretty much lived on Russian Pepsi, and I’m not a fan of Pepsi at all.
After last night’s dinner it was off to the Paladium in Salt Lake where we saw Gogol Bordello. A Gypsy Punk band. Way too much fun! The place was packed and at least 2/3 of the audience spent the night bouncing up and down. Imagine polka music with a punk vibe and you might get the picture of what it was like. Lots of fun.
I went to bed late. I woke up late. Not to mention the time change. I’m about to head out the door to get one more day of skiing in before I head back to the studio.
In the meantime, I have remixes of Hero Unexpected rolling in. It’s the first time I’ve gotten remixes of a song I’ve written. I’ve had a couple of remixers in the past ask to do remixes of my songs, but then they never finished them. So I don’t count those. Today’s remix of Hero Unexpected is by Jesse Stern. I figured it would be good to start off with his since he was the one who asked to do it first. I’m not sure if this is the finished and final version of his remix, so just enjoy it. Over the next several weeks I’ll post other versions that I’ve gotten back as well.
Eventually this will get released, so hold your horses – you’ll be able to support me for your own copy soon.
