Well, I’m in the midst of tearing apart the studio to make improvements to the sound of the room. I’ve come to realize that I could really start taking things to a whole other level if I can get my mix environment sounding more “correct”. I recently discovered some holes in my sound spectrum that are part of the reason why mixes tend to take a bit longer than they should.
The answer: fix the sound in the room. So today I’ll be running around picking up materials to make the necessary changes. Tomorrow will be the day I spend putting it to the test and putting it up in the room. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it all accomplished by tomorrow evening. I’ve been taking pictures of the process, sorta like the before and after stuff. I’m going to be putting them all together to make a bit of a time line and change for an article for a UK magazine. Since they’ve been providing some great tips. They run it as a feature, who knows.
So in the name of needing to get to my day, I’ll leave you with this little ditty from a band I once had the pleasure of meeting face to face for a brief amount of time. I was even offered a spot. Though I felt I didn’t fit in and thus turned it down. Still they can write a real fun drinking and party song when they want to.
Here’s a link to the full story about it: Meeting Buckcherry.
Fun video eh?
Now go get the song!
(** Disclaimer: If Buck’s label decides to go all crazy on my bitch ass, I’ll have to drop the video link like a bad habit. The post will remain to show I’m going after an improved sound. **)
