Once in a while things happen. There’s no rhyme or reason as to why. They do. End of story.
While I was on my drive of Park City to Los Angeles, I remember having something hit my windshield. At the time, I don’t remember anything other than the sound. I didn’t see anywhere that it could have hit. This morning I was out to a meeting. While sitting at a light I looked over and saw a nice long arc of a crack coming up from the bottom of the glass on the passenger side.
After my meeting I took the car to a glass shop to ask about it. They took one look and said nope, it will have to be replaced. Turns out they can only repair those spider type cracks. Not long arcs. Bummer. Since I’m taking the car in on monday to the dealer to follow up on a repair made pre holidays, I’m going to ask about the replacement of the windshield. I’m sure it won’t be cheap.
In the meantime, I’m in the midst of setting up a venture with some of my musical friends. I’m sure I’ll announce it here on Single of the Day when I get it done. Though it primarily will relate to those who play instruments. Aside from the crack, the year is getting off to a good start. Next week should be plenty of fun.
I’m feeling a bit eclectic after a long conversation last night with a friend. He keeps searching for how and why. Wondering why he dwells on things and the past, while I always look forward to things and the future. I’m pushing him to change that view being that he keeps calling me at odd times. Seeing if I can get him to take action. Action is the reason why. Isn’t it?
I really liked the intro on this song. That the actual reason as to what grabbed me on this. After that I was interested in the layers presented in the song. While I think the vocals could be improved in spots, they do fit the vibe of the title and the style a vast majority of the time. Bouncing groove is interspersed throughout. By that I mean the bouncing groove from the intro that is created by the synth part.
There’s an element of randomness going on as the song progresses. As is heard in the electric piano part that is improvising. That helps to promote the title of No Reason Why.
What are your ponderances for things that seem to have no reason? Do tell.
