Life clumps up sometimes. By that I mean that things often come all at once even when you plan on getting things spread out. The whole thing of outsourcing often means you’re working on allowing others to make their own decisions. Unfortunately there’s still a need to be somewhere in person. One thing I’m really working on is not attempting to plan too much into a day. That way it’s possible to have time to oneself.
When you plan one big thing a day it means you have to start spreading stuff out. Like a lot of Americans, I have a desire to get things done asafp. Which is contradictory sometimes. However, I’m working on that. Learning to accept that I can’t have it all done right now. Though, I ought to know that lesson well. Sometimes having too much patience is not a good thing. You can spend too much time waiting. Again, something I used to do as well. I’d always find something to fill the mindspace until what was being waited for came. It’s a delicate balance I suppose.
One thing that is nice is when you know you’re needed. Everyone wants to feel needed. For me right now, it’s mostly being needed in the business I’ve got my hands full with. Building the team I need to get things I would like to have done, done. It’s a process, there’s no doubt. But you need a team and a team needs a leader. Leaders need to delegate and then people feel like the leader needs them. Which a leader does.
Thus comes a simple ditty about a woman needing a man. It could very easily be applied the other way around. Though that’s not the story here. Craig has a very rich quality to his voice. I really like the simple downhome easy approach he’s got going on here. The imagery in the lyrics paints a very clear picture of the relationship going on. The best part is, the guy definitely feels needed. Even if it’s for “icky” stuff.
What guy wouldn’t want a woman like the one described here in the song? C’mon, you know you do. Independent but needs her man.
I will say that Craig gives me a vibe of Chuck Cannon. There’s a compliment right there. Chuck is a brilliant songwriter. They have a similar quality about their voices too. There’s a lot to be said about being able to convey a story with just a voice and a guitar. Both of them are very good at doing it. Go explore Craig’s library. He’s got a lot more to hear.
