Here is probably one of the funniest twists of justice I’ve heard in a long time. Surprisingly this did not come from America. A female drug user decided to sue her drug dealer. Seems he dealt her a bad batch of Meth. It caused her to have a host of medical problems such as a heart attack and a coma among other things. Hmmm. Couldn’t possibly be an issue of doing illicit substances in the first place? Anyway, she sued and won. Guess where this happened? While you think about the where, wrap your head around the fact that it happened at all. Now that there’s a legal case against dealers, shouldn’t law enforcement now start suing all drug dealers? Seeing as how it’s bad for your health to do drugs?
Just so you know, the story comes from Canada. What a dichotomy. I mean really, she’s the brightest idiot I’ve heard of in a long time.
Speaking of futures. I’m sure there’s a lot of eyes from the world focused on the U.S. right now while we sort ourselves via preliminary elections to determine which candidates will be shooting for leading our Republic after our current mess. I found a very informative website yesterday which I would love to see become a mandatory thing before voting on a candidate. www.votehelp.org is the site. You’re given a list of questions (I suggest doing all 28) where you provide your stance and how you feel about it. At the end you hit the results button and find out which candidate actually thinks like you do. I was amazed at my results. It got me to think long and hard about some of the questions. Many of them are quite tough and have to be read a few times to be fully understood. I don’t know if that is on purpose. But I know that I had to go back through a modify a few my answers after I thought about them.
What surprised me is the variance I got. It was nearly even between #1 & #2 candidates. Less than 0.3% after that it fell off drastically with a massive variance in last with a difference of nearly 30% from 1st to last. I got several friends to do it yesterday. Some of their results were surprising some were not. None had the variance in numbers that I did. I didn’t even know the candidate it said represented my views – doesn’t matter now anyway, he’s dropped out of the race as of yesterday (Bill Richardson). My number two? Ron Paul. They’re so close in my numbers that it’s practically a tie. Who’s your candidate?
Let’s get to the music. First off, I have no idea what the title means. A. It’s not instantly related in any way that I can readily hear in the song. Maybe it needs a website of drop down questions to make sense of it. (kidding). I remember the line: To The End. So to me that would be the title. I can’t be too hard on the band. Why? Because it’s actually quite impressive when you find out they are 16. I fooled a friend of mine when he asked how old, I said 60. Then I said, no 16. It is 16. I’m impressed with the writing – especially if it’s them who are doing the writing. I have the feeling that if they stick with it, they have a fighting chance in hell to hit the big time.
You might be saying, Jody, are you high? It’s rough. Well, I will grant you it’s a little rough around the edges. But c’mon, that’s an experience thing. I bet in 2 or more years, these cats will get the production aspect together and really start learning to fly. Watch out, if they hone in on the songwriting and start nailing it in a more concise manner you’ll wonder where they came from. There’s certainly some very promising concepts in this song. I can hear the “IT” factor in there, not fully realized yet, but it’s there. I like the guitar ideas. I dig the singer’s voice. Once the voice develops I’m sure it will soar. The bassist is making some fine choices and the drummer has the inklings of being musical with his choices. That’s a hard thing to find. A musical drummer that gets the idea of groove. So I’m excited to say keep an ear and an eye out for Lemonface.
They are coming to LA later this month. I already told them to remind me in case I’m in town, so that I can check them out and meet ’em. For now, enjoy and I hope you add a little section to your iPod for bands to watch hatch, cause this should be in it (legally of course).
