Post Christmas partum. I couldn’t find the right spelling, so sue me. It never fails that somewhere in this world someone will be disappointed by whatever they did or did not get for Christmas. I’m sure there was a time or two where I probably had that at say the age of 8 or something. What’s heartening is that in the world there are some 9 year olds recently showcased in news stories that are already helping others their age to have a better holiday. The amazing thing is, one of them ran into red tape. The city wouldn’t allow him to give the toys up until they were inspected. While I understand the need for safety, that’s taking it waaaaaay too far. Time for the government to stop meddling in everything.
It could be worse. The toys may never have been delivered. Happyness is, that’s not the case. I do know that I spelled happiness incorrectly there – think about the movie. Wouldn’t it be truly amazing if we could all get the gift that George gets in It’s A Wonderful Life? To really see what an impact we make on the world? I’d like that chance.
Today’s choice is my second foray into the world of Bleu. This particular track has a double dose of goodness to it. First I like Bleu’s pop rock approach. Hear again that bouncing feel to the drums and rhythm. Very steady pulse. Of course it gets accentuated with some appropriate punctuations in the chorus.
The second reason for the goodness is provided by Andy Sturmer. One of the masterminds behind one of my favorite bands of all-time: The Jellyfish. Andy is a co-writer on this song. In addition, if you’re listening really closely you’ll actually here his voice in the mix. I’m betting that Andy actually had a hand in the production of the song as well. As Bleu actually gets some very Andy-esque vocal stylings in the latter choruses. I think it’s very befitting of Bleu, his voice works in that case. So much so that I believe that Courtney Prince would have likely dropped her lawsuit if she knew of this song.
Hell, I’m thinking Ivanka Trump would forego her inherited wealth from The Donald if she took this song to heart. Hmmm, maybe not. That’s a lot of dough. Plus being young, blonde, beautiful, and rich… Well. Nah. Sad isn’t it? Hopefully she’s a real philanthropist to the core. In the meantime I suggest parting with the $0.99 it takes to pull the song down legally from iTunes. Then pushing it onto your iPod or other mp3 player. You’ll be happier when things are going not so well. It’s a great pick me up. Doncha think?
(** Disclaimer: If Bleu’s label decides to make things worse for me, I’ll have to make it all better by deleting the audio. The post will remain to show I’m not unhappy with my holiday take home. **)
