It is anybody out there?
What an infamous line. Pink Floyd had an entire song dedicated to that very topic. I would think just about everyone has moments in their life when they wonder that very thing. Anyone with friends shouldn’t have to ask that question. So why do we do it? Something to ponder.
Is it a delusion? Something we make up in our head?
Thinking about the movie about Jesse James, that was sort of the point. Based on that movie Jesse James started losing his mind. Once he did that he couldn’t trust anybody in his gang. At least that’s the impression that we’re left with as a viewer. I guess that’s why I ponder it right now as I’m waiting to go on the road. The longer I wait the more I wonder.
I first heard this song in the movie Love Actually. It comes during a scene where Kierra Knightley first realizes her husband’s best friend is madly in love with her. Actually it’s not Kierra Knightley but the character that she plays. Talk about a great scene. The part of the song that they used to convert fits wonderfully. That’s how I became aware of Dido.
Since I’m still playing the waiting game I figure I need to get lost in some sort of an escape. This is that escape. Keep your fingers crossed that the phone rings with the positive news that I’ve been waiting for.
(** Disclaimer: If Dido’s label decides they’re going to be in my shoes with me, I’ll have to hide the audio off the server. The post will remain to show that I’m still waiting. **)
