As I mentioned a few weeks back, I was going to post several versions of the song Jupiter Bowl before it hits the “gold master” stage. Well here it is… This is Jupiter Bowl v2. This is actually almost the final version. It’s unmastered, and the mix is mostly as it will be. There are a couple of tweaks to make.
If you heard the last version, you might notice that there’s been a change in the ending chorus. It’s a very cool key change. Additionally all the instruments were recorded for this version so that they’d be radio mix ready. It was a good song for me to test out the new version of Logic 8 with.
In case you’d like to compare the two versions of the song, here is the post for the first demo of Jupiter Bowl Mark and I had recorded.
Today I’ll be taking a moment to listen to the mix again since I haven’t heard it in a day. I’ll get a fresher perspective on anything that needs to be changed. I also have a client coming into the studio to record so it will be my first time using Logic 8 to record a song. I’m interested in seeing if it will be as handy as the old version. I already know that I like mixing in Logic 8 better.
Let Mark and I know what you think of Jupiter Bowl.
