It’s official. It’s damn hot out in the Southern California area. Seven people have died in the past couple of days due to the heat. It’s high time to see a rainbow in the Los Angeles area. I would specifically appreciate seeing it after some rain. The one thing I’m happy about is that my power has not gone out. That would definitely make things a bit less tolerable if that were the case.
Today’s a bit of a busy day. I’m going to be doing an interview for a music organization. For some reason, someone heard I was doing some things musically that was apparently impressive. Thus I was asked if I’d be willing to be interviewed. Sure, why not. I’m game. It’s fun to be asked what ya do.
In addition, I’m being told to expect a phone call that could be the turning point for my promotional plans. I’d like to have some really good things to say on the blog tomorrow because of it. But alas, don’t expect anything.
Learning not to expect. I have a feeling that today’s artist ended up in that boat. You’re seeing/hearing a voice from the past. Eva Cassidy ended up dying unfamous. I’m not sure if she died broke too. Tragedy, tragedy, tragedy. With a voice like this it’s insane to think that the industry passed her by. I rightly don’t know when her time was, but seriously with a voice like this, it’s really quite timeless.
Fame can reach out from the grave though. Seems that a show in the UK ended up discovering her after the fact. They broadcast one of her tunes and bam, she hit the charts. Then so many people started calling the station to say they wanted to know where to get her and if they would play her again. Boom, there they go, the played her again and up the charts she went. In a country that didn’t know her and after she had already died.
If her talent can’t render you an emotion, there could very well be something wrong with you. I posted this live video to show it’s not some digital markup, but rather the real thing. Go now, and explore her world.
