For the American and Canadian readers/listeners, did you have a good Labor Day holiday?
It stands that sometimes you’re turned on to music in the strangest of ways. Actually, it could just be me. I’m in the midst of writing a song with a co-writer that I’ve written with before and he mentions have you heard of the Natural Energy Lab. My response is no. Next step, to pull up the website. It’s a music library. Then he asks have you heard of The 88’s? Again my response is no. On the website is a song by a band called The 88. Or maybe it’s The 88’s. Either way it’s the song you’re hearing now.
As you can tell it’s got a fairly mellow vibe. Something of a Brit Pop type thing. I actually liken it to a descendent of Jellyfish. Which means lineage comes even further back to Wings and/or the Beatles. I’m generally a sucker for this type of music. I guess I’m not normally used to finding good music through a music library website. I’ve never browsed one before. So that would be why.
I’d like to point out that I noticed it’s a little difficult to find the song on iTunes if you type it in by the name of the song “Nobody Cares”. You’ve got it easy, you can click the link up above on the left. It goes right to the song in iTunes, lucky you. Why would it be hard to find for most people? Seems there’s a mistake in the iTunes listing and it’s listed as Noody Cares. Oops, someone missed the ‘b’.
I like the lilting melody and the bouncing rhythm. Plain and simple, nothing more, nothing less. The video itself is quite quirky. And at the end they do a nice little reversing the playback thing. Enjoy! Support!
