Here’s a quick little post…
I’m in an area that doesn’t get internet service. This same area is also very lucky to even get some cell phone service in certain parts of the town. It’s boonie country. It’s middle of nowhere Utah. It’s beautiful. It’s isolated. It’s awesome being out of contact.
Where am I?
Let’s play a game…
It’s near Boulder Mountain. It’s near Capital Reef. It’s near where my mom was born. It’s near where my mom’s dad was born. It’s near where my mom’s mom (my grandma) was born. Two of those people were born in the same town. However, I’m not going to tell you where. I will say that of the three people, the national park and the lodge where I stayed last night it’s in the center of that triangle.
In addition, it’s also a place that I may very well put a house and recording studio. It would be the ultimate getaway for a famous artist or band to come and record without all the distractions that we get in the world today. But for now it will be where there’s a family reunion for part of my family.
In the words of a friend of mine and the exact opposite of Chris Knights’ title… Be Jealous.
Chris Knight has been compared to some of the biggest names in country music. It’s hard to come out from under such comparisons when they happen all the time. Eventually people have to look at you as your own person and start using you as an example of an artist others get compared to. While I have no idea of a country artist that I could compare to Chris Knight I’m sure it will happen at some point. Until then, I will say you need to venture into his world, explore his music and enjoy. ** whoa, as I just typed that last line I was dive bombed by a hummingbird it nearly took my ear off. Gotta love the wild west and the great outdoors.
(** Disclaimer: If Chris Knight’s label decides to get jealous about my trip, I’ll have to wax the audio off the server. The post will remain to show I’m still able to get stuff out to you even when I’m nowhere near the internet. **)
