In the aftermath of miscommunication two things can happen. One thing is that people can fix the problem and resolve the issue. The other is, it gets left alone and it falls apart. The thing about clearing the air with the issues is that you can get the facts from all sides and hope that once you’ve cleared your side that people accept you. Or maybe they say to hell with it and walk away. You never know until you put it out there.
Putting it out there. It’s something musicians, artists, writeres, and actors do everyday. Creative people are always putting something out there and hoping that someone in the world will understand that creation and accept it. You’re even luckier if that acceptance leads to monetary reward. The odd thing is even the most talented creation can be a commercial flop, while the most inane slop could potentially be a massive cultural hit. There is simply no way to predict that will happen.
Case in point. I remember Sugar Ray’s first single, no I don’t remember the title of the song, but I remember there’s a horrendous guitar riff that is out of key in it. It put me off the band for a while until this song came along. It was like a night a day difference. To me the sign of a good artist is one that can push you away and yet still get you to come back into their fold. Sugar Ray did that. However, they’re no longer in that sweet limelight any more, thus why they’ve made the fallen friday page.
The surprising thing to me is, they have a best of collection. I’m kinda ignorant because I only have the three songs I like by them in my collection thanks to iTunes, but how many CD’s did they really release? Two? I don’t know. But a best of if you only have two CD’s is odd to me. Someone care to correct me? I mean really, shouldn’t a band or artist have like 5 or 8 releases before they can have a best of release? Am I wrong?
