It’s an hour later sooner. Did you remember to set your clock forward? Did you sleep in based on it? Are you confused? Did you wait until now to reset your clock? Do you even care? Are you wondering why the government is setting our time tables for us? Do you know who came up with the modern concept of daylight savings time?
For me it feels like I’ve been sick an hour longer than I want to be. Yup, I’m still under the weather and my ear is still doing the damn ring and mute thing. ARGH!
In the mean time, I’ll expose you to a band called Sweet Diss and the Comebacks. I was turned to them by another artist already featured here on Single of the Day. That’s a good thing. When I discover someone for you, it’s even better when they pass someone else along for me to eventually tell you about too. That’s a win win win win type thing. So Washington has more than one good band and of course the red delicious apple to it’s good taste. BTW – I don’t mean Washington D.C. (I’m thinking most of the people/politicians there don’t have taste beyond lobbyists money).
Unfortunately for today’s pick I have no clue how you can purchase their music. They seem to only have a myspace page and are giving their music away for free. So while I prefer you to purchase the music you listen to so you can add it to your own library, I guess that’s just not possible in today’s case.
Musically I think about Josie and The Pussycats, and lots of other power pop stuff. This may include but not be limited to the following: Penny Racer, some songs by Throwing Toasters, Imperial Drag, Jellyfish, The Monkeys, The Torries, Avion. Sounds sorta like the ingredients for some food products. I never understood why some things didn’t know what ingredients they had. I’ve since stopped eating such things. But musicially I’ll always have a spot in my ear for this kind of music. Do you?
I realize the title of today’s post has absolutely nothing to do with daylight savings time. But it is in reference to the song. With that, I’ll leave you with those thoughts as I go crawl back into bed to see if I can kick this cold out of my system.
