(It feels) Timeless on iTunes
I must be on a small instrumental kick. Yesterday I woke up late, but it was alright as it was a day off here in Florida. Maurice dropped off a DVD so that I could burn a copy of the video for Mr. Wagner. I decided to see if I could catch a ride to Orlando. Unfortunately all the people I asked about doing such a trip looked at me like I was insane. Instead I ended up walking towards downtown Deland.
I brought the DVD just in case I found a place that could FedEx it out. While I was walking Maurice called me with the address to send the DVD to. Then he asked me where I was. He said I could possibly make it to the local office max by 5 p.m. to get it out via FedEx. I walked for nearly an hour and a half and never reached the OfficeMax, but I did end up seeing a bunch of the town. The unfortunate flip side of this is that I brought the wrong shoes for long distance walk-a-bouts.
I have a pair of Vans high-tops that look great while performing on stage. I figured since I’ve got to uphold my image for these meetings, I’d just wear these shoes and not pack additional pairs. This proved to be a mistake for that long walk yesterday. I literally walked almost to the next town. I ended up blistering my feet. Instead of walking all the way back, I attempted to see a movie. No dice there as it wasn’t a good time. So I called a cab and got a ride back to the hotel.
This song feels like how my walk began. It doesn’t evolve into the pain I ended with, but it does end up promoting the fact that I’ll remember this walk for a very long time to come. Its not often you blister your feet walking. I’m not sure what Michael had in mind when he wrote this particular song, but I’m feeling it for my travels yesterday.
I think you ought to listen to more of his material as it tends to be quite relaxing. Which is exactly why I chose it from my ordeal. I needed to relax and rest the tootsies. Support him, buy him, enjoy him. I know you will.
That’s just because you’re a guy. I will have a scar on the outside of my big toes from where a pair of shoes rubbed my skin off. It’s been over a week and it still hasn’t healed. So don’t talk to me about your feet hurting until you wear strappy high heel shoes that rub your flesh off.
Yes, well, this is true. But I gotta be like Forrest Gump here. I think life better with comfortable shoes.
