I had something very witty to say about the title, but by the time I got from the title to the writting I lost the clever. Oh well.
I happened to choose this particular song more because I recently became friends with someone who plays for this band, Benny Carey. He plays guitar, quite well I might add, and he plays with Lifehouse when they go out on tour. The other night at the Journey concert I asked Benny if he’d be willing to throw some guitar stuff on the Christmas album and of course he said yes.
Last night Benny came over to my pad and studio and whipped out this cool pedal board and a nice Gretsch Hollow-body guitar. I got him to play some solos on 3 of the songs on Christmas project. We had a good time throwing them down and Benny decided to double track the solos. Which is pretty amazing considering how fast we were working.
I could start name dropping big time with some of the people that Benny works and hangs with, but I think that would be stupid of me to do. So, I’ll keep this post short. If you haven’t heard of lifehouse, then you probably haven’t gotten out of the house much. So do it now, then buy the song.
(** Disclaimer: If Lifehouse’s label decides to find out about this post and sue me, I’ll be tossing that audio aside like a used paint-rag. The text will remain. **)
