I’ve been stumbling through some absolutely great music in the past week and I’m excited about a great many discoveries that I’ve got coming down the line. I really enjoyed yesterday’s song. If you are just joining me for the first time you should check it out. I’ll wait…

Ok, you ready to move on? Good, here we goooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
A vision is coming to me. It’s about you. Through the digital 1’s and 0’s I’m getting a reading that you’re motoring through life juggling so many aspects to your life that you feel like you’re part of a 3-ring show known as a circus. You’ve got your job, or wait, it could be school. Oh, if you’re school you feel like it’s work, doing all that studying and actually working a part-time job on top of that. Then there’s your relationship. Oh and I mussn’t forget your parents that are likely driving you crazy poking into your life too. Then there’s you current transportation that isn’t always your favorite way to get around. Any of this registering with you?
Now, multiply that by ten and you’ve got what it’s like to be a musician. Because we have to add to the fact that we’re supposed to be the ones doing the entertaining on top of all the work that goes into the music. It’s a wonder that more musicians don’t go postal. Often times when things get truly nutty the standard fair is to get drunk, inject a drug, or pop a pill or some combination thereof. But that isn’t what sets a Rockstar apart from you. Its the excess in which they partake. I’ve yet to hear of a musician that inflicts their physical pain upon others. Usually they reserve it for themselves. How thoughtful we are to do that, right?
This groovalicious little ditty isn’t actually written by an American, despite my cross categorizing it with Americana and blues. It does have a bit of that feel to me. One thing I dig is the story line from the vantage point of a circus ringleader. Its a great metaphor for those of us who feel like we’re juggling so much in life. It’s as if we’re the center of attention in our own little universe. I want you for a moment to close your eyes and listen very carefully to the words in this song.
I swear that as you listen and get a hold of the story in your mind, you’ll find that Glenn is actually singing about you. Don’t believe me? Try it, then comment here and tell me if I’m lying. I dare you to prove me wrong. Remember you’re the Ringmaster of your world. Once you’ve seen that vision, I predict you’ll be forking over the $0.99 (U.S.) to purchase this song off iTunes. There’ll be this epiphany and you’ll listen to the song over and over, then you’ll end up buying the whole darn CD. All because you feel like the vibe is within you and meant for your ears only.
