Yesterday was one of those days. You ever had one of those days? I love that line, I’m having one of those days – you know what I mean? Its like the speaker is attempting to cover all manner of sins with a simple phrase. Reality is I had a day where I was particularly productive but I didn’t feel like I was.
I was given a list of things to do last Monday. People I could call, networks I could join, all for the betterment of my career. I got it all done. I even sent two requested CD promo packages off in the mail too. I had a meeting with a prospective manager as well. But at the end of the day I was feeling the effects of the lone beer I had the previous night at the Backstage Cafe. I think I’ll need to make sure that I stay away from Coronas.
This is the second time in a row where I’ve had a Corona to drink and my stomach continues to spaz about something for the next day or so. I once read or heard that you shouldn’t drink beer from a country that is poorer than the country you live in. It’s a dopey thing to think, but I’m going to apply it to Coronas. That little story has absolutely nothing to do with the song, but the opening of one of those days does.
Buddy Holly was a revolutionary, he accomplished a lot in his short time. Hence the connection I was making there. I accomplished a lot of stuff in one day. While I’m not like Buddy, nor his fame, but I do feel like I’m on the road in that direction. If you’re not familiar with Buddy Holly, you need to go to class. I can’t be your history teacher, but you need to visit the website link. Read about this man and his music. Buy it too. You should buy his entire catalog. It’s amazing, timeless music. Something that I would love to strive for – timeless music. Seriously you need a music history lesson if you don’t know Buddy.
(** Disclaimer: If Buddy Holly’s label decides to make my Everyday a pain in ass like a bad relationship, I’ll be dropping the audio like a hot potato burning my hands. The text and my affection will remain. **)
